Sanyu holds her two children close and smiles for the photograph, though her young face hides the pain she has already endured.

After marrying and giving birth, her husband and his family turned their backs on Sanyu. With nowhere to go, she lived on the streets with her children.
Every night she faced the same question: How do I keep my children safe?
For a time, it felt like there was no way forward. Then something changed.
Through Watoto Neighbourhood, Sanyu was helped to find a place to live and received an Embrace Package—a mattress and basic household necessities to help her start again. The package is simple, but the message behind it is powerful: you are seen, you are valued, and you are not alone.
Today, Sanyu is rebuilding her life. She attends classes, is learning practical skills to earn an income, and is discovering her value in Christ as she cares for her children.
Her story is one example of how, together, we are working to break the cycle of poverty.
