Host family FAQ

Q: How do I apply to be a host family?
A: You can send an email to hostfamilies.watoto@gmail.com or click here to register .

Q: If I am unable to provide a separate bedroom, can the choir members be asked to sleep in the living room? Do they require sleeping bags or mattresses?
A: Yes, as long as you can provide a mattress, a pillow and warm blanket for each of them. A sofa or a mattress on the living room floor will be sufficient, as long as there is enough space for them to lie down.

Q: How many members will I be taking care of and what will the duration be?
A: There will be 1 adult member with 1 to 2 children, they will be of the same gender. Our choir members will be staying for around 8 to 9 days.

Q: What language should I use to communicate with them?
A: They are able to communicate in English.

Q: Am I required to arrange transportation for the members?
A: Yes, you should utilise the most efficient transportation method to drop off and pick up our members to and from the venue of concert and/or additional activity. If the concert is in the evening, we suggest that you use private vehicle or taxi for their transportation in order to shorten the time of travel for resting purpose.

A: Yes, please prepare breakfast and midnight snacks (such as biscuits or fruits). Please refer to the daily schedule for lunch and dinner time arrangements. You will need to prepare three meals on their rest day once a week.

A: Choir members do not have any food allergy. Please kindly avoid spicy foods or seafood, and provide hot meals with adequate protein.

Q: Where can I find the choir’s schedule?
A: Their schedule will be provided at the briefing session.
