{"id":258,"date":"2020-04-25T03:07:04","date_gmt":"2020-04-25T03:07:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/?page_id=258"},"modified":"2020-08-10T10:35:37","modified_gmt":"2020-08-10T02:35:37","slug":"about-us","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.watoto.asia\/en\/about-us\/","title":{"rendered":"About Us"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Watoto is a family of people from all over the world who are working together to ensure that the forgotten have a place to belong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a time of civil war, we planted&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.watotochurch.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Watoto Church<\/a>&nbsp;in Kampala, Uganda to speak hope and life to the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since then, Watoto has placed thousands of orphans in families, empowered vulnerable women to reach their communities, rescued babies and former child soldiers, and sent children\u2019s choirs across six continents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we work alongside the most vulnerable in our society, our aim is to rescue individuals and raise each one as a leader in their sphere of life so that, in turn, they will rebuild the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In over 30 years, the challenges facing the nation have changed, but the vision remains the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In all of this, Watoto remains a local church, committed to celebrating Christ and caring for community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Watoto is a family of people from all over the world who are working together to ensure that the forgotten have a place to belong.
