Watoto Children’s Choir from Africa is Back on Tour<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Partnered with 40 Schools to Share Love and Hope<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After three years of pandemic, the long-established Watoto Children’s Choir can finally resume performing in different countries. From October to early December this year, Watoto’s Children’s Choir toured in Hong Kong. In just two months, the Watoto team was invited to visit more than 40 primary and secondary schools, universities and more than 13 churches and companies to share their life transformational stories and encourage Hong Kong students to face challenges with courage and perseverance. Many teachers expressed that when students saw Watoto’s children from Africa, they were infected by the warm atmosphere. Students who are usually shy and reserved, became very engaged. Behind the wonderful songs and dances are the life transformational stories of each child who was once abandoned, but now regained hope. Many students were moved to tears after hearing the stories of Watoto children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Watoto Children\u2019s Choir\u2019s \u201cWe Will Go\u201d concert tour has three stops. After Hong Kong leg, the choir is now touring in Singapore and will visit Malaysia in January. Special thanks to our event sponsors: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baptist Rainbow Primary School<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This year, Watoto visited Baptist Rainbow Primary School. Before the children’s choir visited the school, Watoto arranged for its Hong Kong staff to share the background and situation of Africa with students through life education talks, so that students could have a preliminary understanding of Africa. The choir visited the school and had lunch with the Primary 5 students to exchange the culture of Hong Kong and Uganda.<\/p>\n\n\n

S.K.H. St. Andrew’s Primary School<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

S.K.H. St. Andrew’s Primary School attaches great importance to the cultivation of students’ character, hoping to enable children to build self-confidence and bring happiness to themselves and others. The school and Watoto jointly organize sharing sessions and concerts, allowing students and Watoto children to meet and become friends. Later, the school responded to Watoto’s call to encourage one-class-one-sponsorship, allowing students to establish long-term relationships with Watoto’s sponsored children, educating students to be willing to share and care for the disadvantaged.<\/p>\n\n\n

St. Hilary’s School – Primary School <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

During their stay in Hong Kong, the Watoto Children’s Choir visited the Diamond Hill, Mong Kok and Tai Po primary school campus of St Hilary’s School to conduct exchange activities with students. Principal Chu shared that allowing students to experience and participate in real interpersonal communication with Watoto children is the most effective way for students to understand the meaning of “care”. Therefore, through this kind of direct communication, students can gain a deeper understanding that “care” is to share what they have with others.<\/p>\n\n\n
